Mumbai: A curfew has been announced in the city of Mumbai till midnight on December 31. The decision to impose curfew in the state was taken because of the rising number of Omicron cases in Maharashtra. Mumbai Police has declared 144 in the city to avoid crowds for Christmas and New Year. The number of patients was found to have increased by 27%.
Maharashtra also has the highest number of confirmed Omicrons in the country. So far, 32 people have been diagnosed with omicron. Of these, 25 were discharged from the hospital. The other day, four more people were newly diagnosed with Omicron. According to the Department of Health, the spread of Omicron is likely to increase by January. Omicron was also found in villages.
