New Delhi: India will issue tourist visas to foreign tourists from the 15th of this month. The central government has decided to resume the tourist visa, which was suspended after the lockdown was announced, after a year and a half. The complete resumption of tourist visas will be in two phases. From the 15th of this month, visas will be issued to foreign tourists arriving on chartered flights. From November 15, foreign tourist visas will be issued to those on regular flights, the Union Home Ministry said.
The Home Ministry said it had directed the states to ensure that tourists and airlines meet the covid standards set by the Union Health Ministry. The decision to issue the new tourist visa was taken by the Center after consultation with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Tourism and state governments.
