Kabul: The rule of Afghanistan will now be safe in the hands of Mullah Omar’s loyalists. Mullah Baradar will lead the new government. He is a co-founder of the Taliban. Mulla Mohammad Yakob, son of the late Mullah Omar, and Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanexai will also be in high positions in the government. All the top leaders have arrived in Kabul.
The Taliban will form a government with the supreme spiritual leader on the model of Iran. Hibatullah Akunzada will be the spiritual leader with authority over the army and government.
As the fighting with the rebels intensifies in Panchsheer, the economic crisis is troubling Afghanistan. It is in this context that the formation of the government took place. The fighting in Panchsheer was led by Ahmed Masood, the son of Mujahideen leader Ahmed Shah Masood. Attempts to reconcile with them also failed.
War-torn Afghanistan can only be saved if the world recognizes and the validity of the government by international donors and investors. The foreign-dependent economy is on the verge of collapse. Even before the Taliban seized power, thousands of families were starving. It is now reported to have increased.
