New Delhi: The Center has directed the states to avoid crowds and impose restrictions if necessary. In a letter to the state chief secretaries, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said that despite the decline in the spread of covid in the country as a whole, the disease was spreading in some areas.
The letter said the existing covid restrictions in the country would continue until the 30th of next month. There has been a decline in the spread of the disease in the country as a whole. But in some districts the spread is severe. The high confirmation rate and the presence of active cases are also a cause for concern. Therefore, control measures should be taken according to the situation in the respective areas.
The letter also directed the government to impose restrictions on festivals like Diwali and Chat Puja. Do not allow large crowds. For this, restrictions should be announced on a local basis. The letter said the restrictions should be in line with the guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry on April 25 and June 28.
Vaccination has made great strides in the country. Vaccination campaigns should continue as they are in the States and Union Territories. The Home Secretary said the emphasis should be on giving more people the vaccine as soon as possible.
