New Delhi: A junior commissioned officer (JCO) of the Army has been killed in a clash with militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s border district. A police official said security forces launched a search operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
The soldier, who was injured in the shooting, was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
He said the terrorists opened fire on the security forces during the operation, which led to the clashes. This is the second encounter in August. On August 6, two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed in a clash with security forces in the Thanamandi area.
