New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has rejected a petition seeking a stay to the Central Vista project in Delhi at a time when the spread of Covid is rampant in the country. A bench headed by Chief Justice DN Patel also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the petitioners. The court dismissed the petition saying that the petitioners had filed the petition for a specific purpose.
Those involved in the construction of the Central Vista Project live right where construction is taking place. So there will be no covid expansion. The court also pointed out that there was no impediment to construction work as per the order of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority. The court ruled that the project was of national importance and should be completed before November 21, 2021.
