Baghdad: A fire at Covid Hospital in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, has killed at least 23 people. The fire broke out in the intensive care unit of Ibn al-Khatib Hospital.
The incident took place this morning. The accident was reportedly caused by a mistake in the storage of the oxygen cylinders. Fifty people were injured in the accident.
Thirty people were reportedly being treated in the intensive care unit of a hospital set aside for critically ill Covid patients. Relatives of the patients were also at the scene. The fire was put out after hours of effort by firefighters.
