Bhopal: Lockdowns have been declared in urban areas of Madhya Pradesh amid rising Covid cases. The lockdown is open from 6 pm on Friday to 6 am on Monday.
After the emergency meeting, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that appropriate action would be taken in the areas where Covid cases have increased. The CM said there was no need to impose a complete lockdown but to determine the containment zones in big cities.
In Madhya Pradesh, 4043 new Covid cases were reported yesterday. Of these, 866 cases were in the city of Indore. In Bhopal, 618 new cases were reported in a single day. Covid has so far affected 3,18,014 people in the state. 4086 people died due to Covid infection.
