Thiruvananthapuram / Kochi / Kozhikode / New Delhi: The Delhi government has imposed travel restrictions on people from Kerala. PTI reports that Covid-19 negative certificates have been made mandatory for people from five states, including Maharashtra, Kerala, and Punjab. Officials told PTI that the order would take effect from March 15. Officials said those coming to Delhi by air, train, and the bus would have to produce a Covid negative certificate.
The other four states have imposed travel restrictions on people from Kerala in the wake of the escalation of the Covid. The states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Manipur, and Uttarakhand have imposed travel restrictions on people from Kerala. Only those with a negative certificate can enter these states.
Maharashtra was the first state to ban people from Kerala. People from Kerala can enter Maharashtra only if they have an RTPCR negative report. Apart from Kerala, Maharashtra also has restrictions on travelers from Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Delhi.
Karnataka has also banned people from Kerala. Checks at borders have been tightened. Karnataka closed many borders between Wayanad and Kasaragod. Dakshina Kannada officials said that only those with negative RTPCR test results will be sent to Mangalore.
People from Maharashtra and Kerala can enter Karnataka and Manipur only if they have a Covid negative report. Out-of-state states like Uttarakhand and Odisha also require Covid Negative Certificates.
The Central Government has sent high-level central teams of experts in various fields to the State / Union Territories where the spread of Covid is on the rise.

The three-member expert team will be led by the Joint Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health. Teams working jointly with the State / Union Territories will look into the reasons for the recent increase in Covid cases in the region. Teams will also be formed in collaboration with health authorities to control the disease
The Center has written to the governments of Kerala, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir, which are increasing the number of daily confirmations. These areas showed a decrease in the proportion of RT-PCR tests and an increase in the rate of confirmation of the disease in some districts.
In the letter, the Secretary to the Ministry of Health called for strong measures to be taken to eliminate the spread of the disease and to intensify RTPCR testing.
State / UT Governments have been directed to strictly conduct RTPCR testing for all those who are negative in antigen testing but show symptoms.
