New Delhi: The ban on international commercial aviation services has been extended to December 31 as part of Covid expansion. The ban does not apply to cargo aircraft or specially chartered aircraft operating in service with the approval of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). On selected routes, the DGCA may also grant international scheduled flights on a case-by-case basis.

International commercial passenger flights from and around India have been banned since March 23 as part of a crackdown on the spread of Covid. In the absence of regular flights on foreign routes, special international flights have been operated under the Vande Bharat Mission since May.
