New Delhi: The Union government has said that talks with the two countries on a vaccine developed by Russia are progressing. Some things have been decided. Balram Bhargava, Director General, ICMR, told mediapersons that the trial of the three Covid vaccines in the country is progressing at various stages.
The vaccine is being tested in phases two and three by the Serum Institute, a leading pharmaceutical company. The vaccine, jointly developed by Oxford and Astra Seneca, is a serum manufactured in India. The ICMR Director said that the vaccines of Bharti Biotech and Sidus Cadilla have been successfully tested in the first phase.
The ICMR warns that those who behave irresponsibly without taking the necessary precautions are more likely to spread the disease. Balram Bhargava also reminded that going out without wearing a mask can lead to the spread of Covid disease. In Hong Kong, it was reported that a sick person had contracted the disease again. The ICMR points out that many factors can contribute to this.
The patient’s immune system may be a factor. Genetic mutations in the virus can also lead to re-infection. All these things are being closely monitored. But the ICMR director said there was no need for a warning in this regard at present.
