Geneva: World Health Organization (WHO) has called an emergency meeting as an unknown virus spreads in China. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday. A virus similar to SARS is also spreading outside China.
What is more alarming to authorities is the resemblance to the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), which claimed the lives of 800 people in China and Hong Kong in 2002-2003. The new unknown virus was first discovered in the central Chinese city of Wuhan. The WHO meeting in Geneva will decide whether to declare a health emergency to the whole world, due to concerns over the spread of the unknown virus.
