New Delhi: The Lok Sabha has passed a resolution to revoke Article 370 which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The Rajya Sabha had also passed the resolution. In the Lok Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the special status of the Northeast will not be removed. “Kashmir is a domestic issue in India,” Shah said.
When 370 people voted in favor of the Jammu and Kashmir Partition Bill, 70 voted against. 366 voted in favor of removing Kashmir privilege and the rest voted against it.
Both bills were passed by the Rajya Sabha yesterday. With the passage of the Lok Sabha, the partition of Jammu and Kashmir was completed. With the signing of the Bill by the President, the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh will be officially in force.
Amit Shah withdrew reservation bill in Lok Sabha. With the abolition of the privilege, Kashmir has become the norm for economic reservation as it is everywhere in the country.
Of the NDA parties, all except the JDU voted in favor of the bill. Opposition parties like the Aam Aadmi Party and the TDP voted in favor of the Kashmir Bill today. The CPI (M), the Congress, the CPI, the DMK, the Muslim League and the AIIMM voted against the bill. Trinamool Congress abstains from voting. The Lok Sabha bills were passed by a vote against the Rajya Sabha.
