Kochi: The High Court quashed the case against director Sreekumar Menon. The case was quashed on the complaint filed by Manju Warrier. Manju Warrier’s complaint was that he spread slander through social media. Manju filed the complaint during the cyber attack after the movie ‘Odiyan.
Manju Warrier alleged that she was abused on social media during the controversies after the release of the movie ‘Odiyan’. The complaint was filed with the DGP.
Since 2013, she has acted in several commercials under the contract with Sreekumar Menon’s ‘Push’ company. In the complaint, Manju Warrier has stated that Sreekumar Menon is doing acts that harm his dignity in the society in spite of the cancellation of the contract in 2017.
Later, on 23 October 2019, the Thrissur Town Police registered a case. A case was filed against Sreekumar Menon under the charges of indecent treatment of women, violating the dignity of a woman and insulting her through social media.
On October 27, 2019, Manju Warrier’s statement was taken in the matter. Manju gave a statement to the police that Sreekumar Menon spread bad propaganda against her through social media and tried to make her out to be a bad woman. Sreekumar Menon’s petition against this was allowed and the case was quashed.
