Mumbai: Controversial IAS officer Pooja Khedkar has been dropped from Maharashtra government’s district training programme. Additional Chief Secretary Nitin Gadre said this is after the IAS Academy in Mussoorie decided to stop and recall Pooja’s training. However, Pooja said that the allegations against her are false and she is a victim of fake news.
A 2023 batch officer, Pooja’s OBC and differently abled certificates are in doubt. Pooja’s father is a retired civil servant. Pooja, who was initially appointed as assistant collector in Pune, was shifted to Washim after a controversy arose. The Center has made it clear that action will be taken if they are found guilty of misuse of power. Pooja got into controversy when his personal Audi car was fitted with beacon lights in red and blue colors and a sticker written Maharashtra government was stuck on it.
They also demanded a separate house and car before assuming office. They are facing serious allegations including that they obtained IAS by tampering with the certificate. If found guilty in the investigation, Pooja will be suspended from service. They will also have to face criminal proceedings.
