New Delhi: Four soldiers, including a major, were martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Monday. The encounter took place during a joint search by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Desa area of Doda based on intelligence about the presence of terrorists.
The encounter took place after 9 pm. Officials said five soldiers were seriously injured in the encounter.
This is the second major attack in Jammu region in a week. This is the second major encounter in the Jammu region after five soldiers were killed in Katwa last week. In the last 32 months, 48 soldiers have been killed in Jammu region. There are reports that more than 60 foreign terrorists have been trained in Jammu region alone.
