Thiruvananthapuram: The government appointed a two-member committee to study the plus one seat crisis in Malappuram. Higher Secondary Joint Director, Malappuram District Director of Education are in the committee. Minister V Sivankutty said after discussions with educational organizations that a temporary batch will be allowed to solve the Plus One seat crisis.
Further steps will be taken on the basis of committee report on batch increase. The report is to be submitted on July 5. In Malappuram, there are 85 schools in the higher secondary category in the government sector and 88 schools in the aided sector. 66,024 students are currently studying in the second year of higher secondary. Considering the present situation of Malappuram, sanction of new temporary batch has been agreed in principle. Applications for supplementary allotment have been invited on July 2. Supplementary allotment can be applied for on dates two, three and four. The public education department has collected the taluk level statistics from all over the state
