KUWAIT CITY: Kuwaiti authorities have confirmed that 45 of those who died in a fire in a six-story building where workers lived in Mangaf were Indians. Three are natives of the Philippines. Officials say 49 people have died and 50 people are being treated for injuries or burns. Norka Roots informed that 24 of the deceased were Malayalis. Seven Malayalis are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
DNA tests have been started on the dead bodies. A special air force plane arrived in Kuwait to bring the bodies to India. Sheikh Fahd Al Youssef Al Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait, said that all support and assistance will be provided to the relatives of those affected by the disaster. He also identified 48 dead bodies. A Kuwaiti plane has also been arranged to bring the dead bodies to India.
