MUMBAI: NCP MP Praful Patel has turned down the ministerial post offered to him in the third cabinet led by Narendra Modi. He was a cabinet minister in the UPA cabinet. The proposed membership in the cabinet has been rejected on the basis of the assessment that he is now being called to be made a minister of state.
Praful Patel is coming to Parliament as a representative of NCP led by Ajit Pawar. He was a part of Sharad Pawar’s party during the UPA cabinet.
Patel revealed that he received the promise to be made Minister of State with independent charge on Saturday night. The difference of opinion in this regard has been communicated to the BJP leadership. The reply received is to wait a few days. Patel added that they have promised to find a solution.
Ajit Pawar and Praful Patel’s party NCP has won only one seat out of 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra.
