Kozhikode: Frequent cancellation of flights by Air India Express is causing misery to the passengers again. Air India Express has canceled four flights from Kozhikode on Sunday. Two flights departing from Karipur and two flights departing from Riyadh and Muscat were cancelled. 8.25 pm Karipur-Riyadh flight, 11.30 pm Karipur-Muscat flight, 11.55 pm Riyadh-Karipur flight and 2.15 pm Muscat-Karipur flight have been cancelled. Air India Express officials informed that the flights were canceled due to shortage of cabin crew.
The Air India Express flight from Kochi to Hyderabad was also canceled on Sunday morning. Last day three services at Karipur airport were canceled due to bad weather. An Air India Express flight departing from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi on Saturday was turned back due to a technical problem and the flight was canceled.
Passengers are notified of flight cancellations only hours in advance. Those who had already booked their tickets and prepared for the journey are suffering due to this. Air India Express has announced that they will provide replacement flight tickets within a week for those whose journeys have been cancelled.
However, those who have to go to work on the exact day and have to reach for urgent needs have to book other flights for more than double the amount. Air India Express refunds to ticket holders only after seven days. This also worries the passengers.
