New Delhi: The Supreme Court said that the restriction imposed in Delhi on bursting of firecrackers is applicable not only to the national capital, but to the entire country.
The Supreme Court’s explanation is in a petition seeking a direction to Rajasthan not to use barium-based crackers and to reduce air pollution and noise pollution.
The court said that there was no need for fresh directions in this matter and the Rajasthan government should look into the previous order issued in the case of Delhi and follow it.
In 2021, the Supreme Court issued directives to prevent the bursting of crackers using banned chemicals during Diwali. The court explained that this does not mean a complete ban on firecrackers.
