Thiruvananthapuram: To strengthen Kaniv 108 service with new, more convenient way, Health Minister Veena George said that a mobile application is being prepared. With this application installed on the mobile phone, without contacting the number 108 Ambulance service will be available easily.
With the help of GPS connected in mobile phone, the exact details of the emergency location will be send to the ambulance. The minister also informed that the mobile app will be available this month.
7,89,830 trips has been completed after 4 years of starting Kaniv 108 ambulance scheme in the state. Out of this, 3,45,867 trips are related to Covid and 198 trips are related to Nipah. So far 90 deliveries have been attended to by this ambulance. At present 316 ambulances and 1300 personnel are part of the project.
Thiruvananthapuram district has the highest number of trips with 108 ambulances. 1,17,668 trips were run here. Idukki district has the lowest -23,006 trips.
