Major Releases Of This Year From This Week, Will Box-Office Roar With Money?
Rajinikanth’s Jailer, Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 and Sunny Deol’s Gaddar 2 are all set to release this week. The fans are waiting to see their favourite stars so can the box-office roar with new initial first-day records?
This week we are going to see the epic clashes of different SuperStars from different languages. Rajinkanth’s Jailer from Tamil Nadu, Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar from Telugu, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 from Bollywood and Gaddar 2, the sequel of Blockbuster Gaddar from Sunny Deol are the major big movies releasing this week. So, it’s clear that the box-office is going to witness the thrilling clashes of various Superstars.
Among the four films currently, Jailer was able to do more business because the advance booking in Tamil Nadu is mindblowing. The major south cities like Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Cochin are having heavy advance bookings. In Chennai and Coimbatore, the shows for Jailer on the first-day first show are fully booked. All the other parts of Tamil Nadu are also showing heavy advance bookings. Shockingly, tickets until Sunday are almost full for Jailer in Tamil Nadu. The film Jailer was able to create a new record in the USA because the advance booking already grossed $500K. The expected first-day collections by experts are that Jailer will get 30+ Crores. Therefore, one thing is clear that the Jailer film is going to dominate the Tamil Nadu box-office. No doubt the initial collections of Jailer till Sunday are going to be massive.
The film Jailer is directed by Nelson whose last film Beast with Thalapathy Vijay sadly failed to create an impact. Also, Rajinikanth’s previous film Annaatthe failed to beat expectations but both Beast and Annaatthe were commercially successful. So, Jailer will be crucial for both Nelson and Jailer and will it be a comeback for both of them? So, let’s wait and watch till August 10th Thursday for the ultimate Rajini Magic.
Chiranjeevi after the Superhit film Waltair Veerayya is back with Bhola Shankar. The movie is releasing this Friday and it’s the remake of the Hit Tamil film Vedalam. The advance booking in Hyderabad is tremendous, the fans of Chiranjeevi are in full swag to welcome Bhola Sankar. The major theatres in Hyderabad like AMB Cinemas, AAA Cinemas and Prasads Multiplex are only having a few more tickets left. So the initial first-day collection of Bhola Sankar will be in big numbers and if the movie is getting positive reviews then no doubt Bhola Shankar will find a place in the Hit List of Mega Star Chiranjeevi. Tamannaah Bhatia and Keerthy Suresh are the female leads and the glimpse from the trailer gives the hope of a paisa vasool entertainer. August 11th Friday is the release date of Bhola Shankar starring Chiranjeevi.
OMG- Oh My God!- The Hindi film released on 28th September 2015 was a box-office hit for Akshay Kumar. The movie was highly praised by critics and was able to achieve 198 crores at the box office. Now after seven years, the sequel of OMG is releasing this week titled OMG 2. This time along with Akshay Kumar we will be able to see the versatile natural actor Pankaj Tripathi and the gorgeous actress Yami Gautham. The advance booking for OMG 2 at present seems average due to the clash of Sunny Deol’s Gaddar 2. The previous films of Akshay Kumar shattered at the box office and experts suggest that that is also one of the reasons for the average advance booking. The Censor Board of Film Certification has advised 20 cuts but the makers had gone with 25 modifications. The film has got an A (Adults Only) certificate and is geared to release this Friday. Through OMG 2 can Akshay Kumar get a comeback? Let’s hope so.
Gadar released on 15th June 2001 was declared an All-Time Blockbuster. The film was made on a budget of ₹18 Crores and got an unbelieve figure of ₹133 crore from the box-office. After a long 22 years, the sequel of Gadar named Gadar 2 is releasing with Sunny Deol again as Tara Singh. The advance booking is going steadily and in the last 24 hours, through BookMyShow 55.56K tickets were sold. According to the prediction of the critic Sumit Kadel, Gadar will achieve a first-day collection of around ₹30 crores. The trailer looks promising and I can’t wait to see the action avatar of Sunny Deol. Gadar 2 will release this Friday and let’s see how Gadar 2 is going to perform in the unpredictable Hollywood box-office.
