Shornur: A passenger was stabbed inside the train at Shornur, Palakkad. The violence took place when the Marusagar Express reached Shornur. Assailant Aziz was arrested by Shornur Railway Police.
The incident took place last night around 10.40 pm on the Marusagar Express going from Ernakulam to Ajmer. Devadas, a native of Parappanangadi who had left Aluva, was stabbed. The accused Aziz was drunk and interrogated when he misbehaved with women, which led to the assailant.
The accused got on the track from the train waiting to receive the signal at Shornur and attacked after breaking the bottle. Devdas received three stab wounds on his face and a stab wound below his eye and was admitted to Kozhikode Medical College after initial treatment.
Aziz was caught by the RPF while trying to escape after the stabbing. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against the accused who is in the custody of Shornur Railway Police.
