Kochi: The Kerala High Court has made a critical remark in the petition against the controversial film Kerala Story. The film tells only the story, not the historical facts. Nothing happens by displaying. The High Court said that this will be accepted by the secular society of Kerala.
The oral reference was while considering the petitions against the Kerala story. After that, the court rejected the request to stay the exhibition of the film.
The petition was heard by a bench comprising Justice N Nagesh and Justice Sophie Thomas. The entire trailer is not anti-society. The court also asked if the film is not a historical film but a fictional film.
There are references against ISIS in the trailer. The court asked that the film had not said anything against Islam. After checking the trailer and teaser of the film, the decision was taken not to stay.
The teaser was released in November. But the court said that the allegations did not arise now.
But the petitioners argued that the film is injecting poison into the minds of innocent people. The court asked what was in the picture that was offensive. When the defendant argued that the film portrays the Muslim community as a villain, the court asked how a community can be shown as a total evil with isolated incidents.
