ADGP MR Ajith Kumar, who is in charge of law and order, issued the order clarifying the duty hours and transfer of policemen. According to the order, duty should be given to policemen only from 08 to 12 hours. 24 hours rest should be allowed in case of 24-hour duty. Officers deputed for night patrol duty should try to give simple duty the next day. Transfer orders for police officers should be issued by April 15. The relocation process should be completed by mid-May. The ADGP stated in the directive to the district police chiefs that capable officers should not be retained in one station and transferred to other stations and units.
