Wellington: Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced that she will step down next month when the general election is about to be held in New Zealand. The general election in New Zealand is on October 14. Jacinda will step down as Labor Party leader on the 7th of next month. A vote will be held in the coming days to find the next PM. Jacinda also said that she will spend more time with her family.
Ardern became the world’s youngest Prime Minister when she was elected in 2017 at the age of 37. She led New Zealand through the Covid-19 pandemic, including the terrorist attacks on two churches in Christchurch.
