Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Kochupreman passed away. He was 68 years old. He died in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram while undergoing treatment for a lung ailment. Due to physical discomfort, he was admitted to the hospital in the afternoon. He was active in comedy roles and character roles for a long time. Acted in more than 250 films. He was active in theater before coming to cinema. He has also acted in serials.
He was born on June 1, 1955 to Sivarama Shastri and Kamalam in Peyad village of Valappil panchayat in Thiruvananthapuram district. Kochupreman completed his primary education at Peyad Govt. School and graduated from MG College, Thiruvananthapuram.
He has been active in theater since his childhood. He directed a play for the first time in the 8th standard. The drama was taken seriously when it was part of the play Jwalamukhi by Jagathi NK Achari. Then he became a part of the famous drama societies of Thiruvananthapuram.
Correct name is K S Premkumar. The name Kochupreman was adopted because a friend with the same name was in the drama committee. Ezhu Nirangal is the first movie. After a long hiatus, he is acting in director Rajasen’s Dilliwala Rajakumaran. He later acted in Irattakkuttikalude Achan. He then played many notable roles in the film. Serial actress Girija is the wife: son: Harikrishnan.
