Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Antony Raju said that the decision on the uniform color code of tourist buses was implemented following the intervention of the High Court. The government has adopted a liberal approach to changing the fitness period.
The minister clarified that the vehicle inspection will not be temporary and strict continuous inspection will continue. He added that if the vehicles violate the law, the officer to be inspected will also be held responsible.
At the same time, the Minister informed that tourist buses without uniform color codes will be impounded and the vehicle owners can approach the High Court requesting an extension of time.
But the motor vehicle department stopped the travel of two tourist buses that violated the law. Buses coming from Malappuram’s Changaramkulam and Ponnani were stopped by the motor vehicle department at Palakkad’s Ettamthara.
