Mumbai: Maharashtra Ex-minister Anil Deshmukh granted bail in money laundering case. The bail was granted by Justice NJ Jamadar of the Bombay High Court. Despite being granted bail in the case being investigated by the ED, Deshmukh will have to remain in jail as the corruption case being investigated by the CBI is pending. The investigation into the 2019-21 scam by Deshmukh and his accomplices is ongoing.
Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh accused Deshmukh of corruption and taking bribes. Then ED and CBI registered a case against the former state home minister. The ED’s case is that Anil Deshmukh misused his official position and collected Rs 4.70 crore from various bars in Mumbai through Sachin Vase.
