New Delhi: Central government has increased the dearness allowance of employees and pensioners. The central cabinet meeting decided to increase the DA by four percent.
It will benefit 47.68 lakh, central government employees, during the festive season. 68.62 lakh pensioners will also get the benefit of this. With retrospective effect from July 1. The arrears of the previous months will be added to the salary received in the coming months.
The central government revises the DA every year on January 1 and July 1. But the decision is usually made in March and September. The central government decided to increase the deficit allowance in early March. At present, the deficiency allowance is 34 percent of the basic salary. With the new reform, the deficit will rise to 38 percent.
