Kozhikode: Two policemen have been arrested in the custody death of Sajeevan in Vadakara. Vadakara station sub-inspector Nijeesh and civil police officer Prajeesh were arrested.
As they are on anticipatory bail, they were released on station bail after recording their arrest.
On the 21st of last month, Sajeevan, who was taken into police custody, collapsed and died in front of the station. Sajeev was taken into police custody in connection with a car accident in Vadakara. The crime branch concluded that he was physically tortured by the police. The crime branch also assesses that this caused the death.
The action of the police, who said that he was suffering from chest pain at the station, was immediately rushed to the hospital and the police did not provide him with medical assistance. The Crime Branch had registered a case against four policemen in connection with the case. The court granted anticipatory bail to the accused.
