New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in police custody during Congress’ nationwide protest against price hikes, unemployment, and ED measures. The police used force and took the leaders into custody. Congress MPs protested by wearing black clothes. Priyanka Gandhi crossed the police barricade. Rahul said that he tried to go to Rashtrapati Bhavan peacefully.
A protest was held at Vijay Chowk for about an hour and a half. Senior leaders including Rahul Gandhi were arrested. Leaders including Rahul Gandhi were arrested and moved to the Kingsway Club. A large-scale protest is taking place at the AICC premises.
Congress MPs marched from Parliament to Rashtrapati Bhavan. The activists marched from the AICC headquarters to the Prime Minister’s residence and were stopped by the police. Because of the Congress protest, a curfew was announced in the entire New Delhi district except for Jantar Mantar. AICC headquarters is surrounded by central forces and Delhi Police. Youth Congress workers from Madhya Pradesh were detained. Many Youth Congress workers were injured.
