New Delhi: The Malayalee star became the country’s pride by winning bronze in the junior 81 kg category held yesterday. Amrita Suni is a native of Cherur, Thrissur, and a 10th-class student of St. Clair’s School, Thrissur. Amrita is also the first Malayali athlete to win a medal in the Asian Weightlifting Championship.
Amrita, who started her career two years ago, won the gold medal in the first national competition she participated in and then maintained her medal in the 5 national competitions she participated in. Amrita qualified for the international competition. This little genius bagged one international medal and five national medals at the age of 15.
