Malappuram: The wife of the main accused was arrested in the murder of Shaba Sharif, a local doctor in Nilambur. Shaibil Ashraf’s wife Hasna (28) from Meppadi was arrested. In 2019, Shaba Sharif, a physician from Mysore, was brought to Nilambur by a group led by Shaibin Ashraf, a resident of Kaipancheri, a resident of Nilambur. The doctor was brought from the treatment center to treat a patient in Mysore and then brought to Nilambur. The main defendant’s aim was to understand and market a drug for the treatment of piles.
The accused brutally tortured the doctor by keeping him imprisoned in his house in Nilambur for one quarter of a year. The doctor was kept in prison in a separate room with a toilet in the house. In October 2020, Shaba Sharif was killed during an attack to extract the treatment secret. According to the police, Shaibin and his accomplices then cut the body into several pieces and threw it from Malappuram Edavanna Sitihaji Bridge to Chaliyar.
