New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry has stepped up vigilance as two people have been diagnosed with Monkeypox in Kerala. The Ministry of Health has directed that all arrivals from abroad be monitored. The Ministry of Health has also asked to ensure a monitoring system at the airports.
Health Minister Veena George said that the system for diagnosis of monkeypox disease will be made available in the labs of the state. There are 28 government labs in the state that can conduct covid RTPCR tests. The minister said that in the first phase, tests will be made available immediately from NIV Pune to NIV Alappuzha and tests will be started.
