Siddique directed Tamil remake of Malayalam film ‘Bodyguard’ was progressing with the tile ‘Kaavalkaran’ which was taken from a super hit MGR film of the 60s.But now Siddique is forced to change the Tamil title to ‘Kaaval Kadhal’.The change was ordered by the film producers’ council after receiving a complaint from Sathya Movies which had produced the classic original. ‘Kaavalkaran’ was an ever green super hit film of MGR produced by Sathya Movies

Saji Surendran’s new movie ‘Four Friends’ has started at Alappuzha. The multistarrer with Jayaram, Jayasuriya, Kunchakko Boban and Meera Jasmine is scripted by Krishna Poojappura. The movie is produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam in the banner of Mulakupadam films.

Jayaram appears as Roy, the M D of a multinational company, while Jayasuriya is a local ‘goonda’ named Ameer in the movie. While Kunchakko Boban appears as an M B A student named Soorya, Meera Jasmine is Goury, a MBBS student.

The movie also features Lalu Alex, Salim Kumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sarayu and Ganesh Kumar in other important roles.

Megastar Mammootty and young superstar Prithviraj are once again poised to share the screen.

The movie on discussion titled as ‘The King And The Commissioner’ will also unite ace scriptwriter Renji Panikkar again with trendy director Shaji Kailas after 15 years. The movie planned as a sequel to the super hits ‘The King’ and ‘The Commissioner’ both by Shaji Kailas, Renji Panikakr duo will unite the lead characters of both the films for a single flick.

While Mammootty will don his big favourite Joseph Alex IAS once again Prithvi will be in the role of Bharath Chandran played in the original by Suresh Gopi. To be produced by Anto Joseph, the movie will be distributed by Mammootty’s Playhouse. ‘The King And The Commissioner’ is expected to be shot at locations in Hyderabad, Delhi and Kochi.

Genelia D’Souza, the bubbly ‘boys’ girl is finally making a start in Mollywood. She will be seen as the heroine to Prithviraj in the new movie directed by Santhosh Sivan titled ‘Urumi’. Scripted by Shankar Ramakrishnan, the movie will be set in the 15th century with Genelia playing the role of a Portuguese princess.With Santhosh Sivan at the helm, the movie is sure to create rave reviews for its lead actress.

Archana has got an offer from Vasanthabalan in his forthcoming Tamil film ‘Aravaan’.Vasanthabalan who has made some memorable films like ‘Veyil’ and ‘Angadi Theru made the official announcement few days ago.’Aravaan’ film will have ‘Eeram’ fame Aadhi as the protagonist. Archana Kavi and Dhanshika are the two heroines in the film. ‘Veyil’ fame Pasupathy is also playing an important role. ‘Aravaan’ is a period film happening in the 18th century Tamil Nadu. Popular singer Karthik is debuting as the music composer. Siddarth of ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’ fame would wield the camera. T Siva of Amma Creations would produce the film.
